This public art installation by Vaughn Bell, funded by the City of Seattle, is a series of custom designed inlays in sidewalks marking below-ground storage for stormwater and sewage. The project is a part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades in efforts to clean up the Ship Canal in Seattle. This project was lead by Vaughn through concept and installation in partnership with utility and transportation staff., Upon completion, 15 of these portals to the Salish Sea will be installed in three Seattle neighborhoods above a mile-long underground tunnel.
I also participated in the design and layout of the Art Master Plan proposed by Vaughn on how to implement projects such as Salish Streets.
